DRUGS:SAY NO
Drug is the top most problem in the present World. It is the burning issue of every society. So it causes a harmful effect our present generation ,even obviously next generation. So everyone should be responsible and more careful.
UNODC is a global leader in the fight against illicit drugs and international crime.It is established in 1997 through a merger between the United Nations Drug Control Programme and the Centre for International Crime Prevention, UNODC operates in all regions of the world through an extensive network of field offices. UNODC relies on voluntary contributions, mainly from Governments, for 90 per cent of its budget.
Every year every nation play 26 june as International Day Against Drug Abbuse & Illicit Trafficking. Bangladesh Govt. also play various activities about it.They work about it at union lavel.
The ascertained topics of this year is "Drug use Disorders are preventable and treatable.”
CAUSES OF TAKEN DGUGS:
People take drugs cause they want to motive something about their lives.
There is no age limitations to take drugs. The most common reasons are:
ü To fit in
ü To tension
ü To insecure future
ü To escape or relax
ü To relief boredom
ü To seem grown up
ü To rebel
ü To misguide
ü To avoidance
ü And so on
They think drugs are a solution. But eventually, the drugs become the problem.
Difficult as it may be to face one’s problems, the consequences of drug use are always worse than the problem one is trying to solve with them So there is no specific answer to solve one problem the same way.
EFFECT OF DRUGS:
Health Problems:
The impact of drug abuse and dependence can be far-reaching, affecting almose every organ in the human body. Drug use can:
- Weaken the immune system, inhancing susceptibility to infections.
- Cause cardiovascular conditions ranging from abnormal heart rate to heart attacks. Injected drugs can also lead to collapsed veins and infections of the blood vessels and heart valves.
- Cause nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
- Cause the live have to work harder, possibly causing huge damage or liver failure.
- Cause seizures, stroke and widespread brain damage that can impact all stare of daily life by causing problems with memory, attention including sustained mental confusion and permanent brain damage.
Brain problems:
Although initial drug use may be voluntary, drug has been shown to alter brain chemistry, that interferes with an individual's ability to make decisions and can lead to compulsive craving, seeking and use. This then becomes a substance dependency.
- All drugs of abuse - nicotine, cocaine, marijuana, and others - effect the brain's "reward" circuit, which is part of the limbic system.
- Drugs hijack this "reward" system, causing unusually large amounts of dopamine to flood the system.
Behavioral Problems:
- Paranoia
- Aggressiveness
- Hallucinations
- Addiction
- Impaired Judgment
- Impulsiveness
- Loss of self independence
- Loss of Self-Control
Birth Defects:
Nearly 4% of pregnant women in the United States use illicit drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, Ecstasy and other amphetamines, and heroin. These and other illicit drugs may pose various risks for pregnant women and their babies. Some of these drugs can cause a baby to be born too small or too soon, or to have withdrawal symptoms, birth defects or learning and behavioral problems. Additionally, illicit drugs may be prepared with impurities that may be harmful to a pregnancy.It is not expected for us.
Finally, pregnant women who use illicit drugs may engage in other unsound behaviors that place their pregnancy at risk, such as having extremely worst nutrition or developing sexually transmitted infections.
Preparing for Change:5 main steps for addiction Ricovery
- Recall yourself of the reasons you want to change.
- Think about your past attempts at quitting, if any. What worked? What didn’t?
- Set particular, measurable goals, such as a quit date or limits on your drugs use.
- Remove reminders of your addiction from your home and workplace or others.
- Tell friends and family that you’re recovering and ask for their support.
